IRVING, Texas - Texas A&M senior Donald Sloan has been named first-team All-Big 12 and fellow senior Bryan Davis made the third team, the league office announced on Sunday. The official All-Big 12 men's basketball awards were selected by the Big 12's head coaches, who were not allowed to vote for their own players.
Sloan is only the second first-team pick from A&M in the conference's 14-year history. Acie Law was a first-team pick in 2007. This also marks only the second time two A&M players have been named to the first, second or third teams. Joseph Jones was a second-team selection in 2007.
Davis was also selected to the Big 12 All-Defense Team.
Sloan averaged 18.3 points in league play, while Davis added 11.0 points and 8.4 rebounds. Davis blocked 29 shots, a school record for Big 12 play.
