
May and USA Softball Take Gold at Pan Am Games

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Texas A&M softball All-American Meagan May and the USA Women's National Team took gold at the Pan Am Games in Guadalajara, Mexico earlier this week.
USA Softball went 8-0 to reach the gold medal game on Sunday against Canada. The USA WNT defeated the Canadians, 11-1 in four innings for USA Softball's eighth Pan Am gold.
May played in four games for the WNT, starting at catcher against the Dominican Republic on Oct. 18. May was 1-for-3 at the plate, with a single and a run scored as the USA WNT defeated the Dominican Republic in a 10-0 shutout.
The A&M junior also started behind the plate for Team USA against Cuba the next day and Argentina in the quarterfinal round on Oct. 21, while seeing playing time as a pinch hitter vs. Cuba in the semifinals.
May will rejoin her A&M teammates in College Station as the Aggies prepare for the 2012 season. A&M will start the spring at the Kajikawa Classic in Tempe, Ariz. on Feb. 10. For a complete season schedule, or to learn more about Texas A&M softball, log on to AggieAthletics.com.
