OAK BROOK, Ill. - Texas A&M women's basketball signees Jordan Jones (DeSoto, Texas) and Courtney Williams (Houston, Texas) received another prestigious accolade as the McDonald's All-American Games unveiled the official rosters for the 11th Annual McDonald's All-American Girls Game during its selection show on ESPNU.
The duo was also recently selected to compete in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) High School All-America Game.
Jones and Williams, both members of the 12-player McDonald's All-American West Team, are two of six signees in A&M's heralded recruiting class that was ranked as high as No. 2 in the country by ESPN HoopGurlz, The Collegiate Girls Basketball Report, Premier Basketball Report and All-Star Girls Report.
"With this recruiting class, we bring in a lot of accolades and a lot of expectations," said A&M head coach Gary Blair. "Courtney and Jordan are leaders on their teams, leaders in school and we expect them to come in and be leaders and impact players for us. This honor is great for their hometowns and high schools and, most importantly, they're getting a chance to represent Texas A&M on a huge stage. These kids are very deserving."
Jones and Williams become the fifth and sixth McDonalds All-Americans that will play for Texas A&M, all of which have come in the Gary Blair Era. Previous Aggie McDonalds All-Americans include Adrian McGowen (2006), Tyra White (2007), Kelsey Bone (2009) and Karla Gilbert (2010).
The Girls Game will be played on March 28 at Chicago's United Center. It begins at 6:30 p.m. CT and will broadcast live on ESPNU.
