First Baton Rouge trip for Aggies since 1994
Texas A&M will be making its first appearance in Baton Rouge in nearly 20 years when the Aggies take on the Tigers at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday in Tiger Stadium.
• The most recent meeting between the Aggies and Tigers in Baton Rouge was a 18-13 win by A&M in 1994. A&M has won in its last two trips to Baton Rouge.
• LSU leads the all-time series, 28-20-3. Since 1970, the two teams are tied at 9 wins each.
• It will be A&M's first road trip in more than a month (W, 41-38 on Oct. 12 at Ole Miss).
• A&M will be seeking a school-record 11th straight road victory. The Aggies' current 10-game streak matches the record set in 1939-40.
• CONNECTIONS: The Tigers have a pair of former A&M offensive coordinators on their coaching staff -- Steve Ensminger and Steve Kragthorpe. Tiger WR Corey Thompson is the son of Tony Thompson, who played for the Aggies in the late 1980s.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR
• A win by the Aggies would be the 20th of Kevin Sumlin's time at Texas A&M. No other head coach has won more than 18 games in their first two seasons in Aggieland.
• The Aggies will be seeking first win against LSU since 1995 (33-17 in College Station).
• A&M is seeking its 11th straight road win, while Sumlin has a personal road-winning streak of 15 games.
• The Aggies are in the midst of a streak of nine straight games with 500-plus total yards, which is easily the longest streak in the FBS.
• Texas A&M takes a FBS-best 13-game streak of 40-point games into the LSU game.
• As a team, the Aggies lead the SEC in scoring (49.2 points/game), total offense (578.0 yards/game), passing (379.2 yards/game), pass efficiency (180.7 rating), punting (48.5 avg.), and first downs (29.1/game).
• The Aggies needs 220 total yards to reach 6,000 as a team (done three times previously); need 208 passing yards to hit 4,000 (accomplished once previously); need eight points to reach 500 (accomplished twice previously)
• QB Johnny Manziel need 76 total yards to reach 4,000 for second straight season. He would become the first Aggie to do it twice.
• Texas A&M has played many teams that have 700 or more wins in program history. For the first time, however, Texas A&M will play a team with 700-plus wins (LSU with 750 in its 120th season) while having 700 wins as well. The Aggies notched win No. 700 two weeks ago against Mississippi State (in 119th season).

He started implementing the period when his teams at the University of Houston were getting off to slow starts.

• Since 1972, the Aggies have awarded varsity letters to 10 or more true freshman in a season only a handful of times: 18 in 2009, 16 in 1980, 11 in 1973 and 10 in 1972 and 2008.
• Kevin Sumlin's 2013 signing class included a whopping 31 players.
Notes and Trends
• Nineteen players have grabbed at least one catch in 2013. From that group, only five are seniors.
• Seven players have at least 10 catches.
• Junior WR Malcome Kennedy needs eight catches for 100 in his career
• The Aggies will have four receivers with 30-plus catches in 2013.

Maroon Goons clear the way
Paving the way for the Aggies' offense is one of the biggest offensive fronts in school history, which features a pair of tackles that have been projected to be NFL first-round draft picks in the future. The projected starting five, self-titled the “Maroon Goons,” of senior All-American Jake Matthews (OT), juniors Cedric Ogbuehi (OT) and Jarvis Harrison (OG), sophomore Mike Matthews (C) and redshirt freshman Germain Ifedi (OG) weigh in at 1,526 pounds or 305.2 per goon.
Matthews shifted from right tackle to left tackle to replace Outland Trophy winner Luke Joeckel, while Ogbuehi moved from guard to right tackle.

Honoring Polo
The Texas A&M football team will honor the memory of fallen teammate Polo Manukainiu with a helmet sticker that reflects his Tongan heritage. The Aggies will wear the circular decal with Manukainiu's #90 jersey and his first name on it. Inset in the jersey number will be a Tongan-inspired design. The Aggies will wear the decal throughout the 2013 season.
Texas A&M equipment manager Matt Watson said, “We wanted to come up with a tribute to Polo as a player, but also reflect a bit of his personality as well. After talking with several of his friends and family it was evident how much Polo's Tongan heritage meant to him. After trying to incorporate partial elements of Polo's actual Tongan Tribal arm tattoos we came up with this design that hopefully his family, friends, and teammates will deem a fitting and personal reflection to who he was both on and off the playing field.”
Manukainiu, from Euless, Texas, died along with two other passengers in a tragic automobile accident on July 29, 2013.
One Texas A&M player will wear Polo's #90 jersey in every game in 2012.
