Aggies Qualify 16 for NCAA Championships

For the second season, A&M sends 16 swimmers to the NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS – The No. 3 Texas A&M women's swimming and diving team will seek its eighth consecutive top 10 finish at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships as they send 16 athletes to compete in Minneapolis, Minn. from Mar 20-22.

After placing fourth last year, matching A&M's highest finish at the NCAA Championships, the team hopes its depth and experience will lead to new heights. The Aggies are returning 12 experienced swimmers while adding only four first time competitors. At 16, A&M ties for the second highest number of invitations this season behind No. 2 Georgia (17), and tied with No. 1 California (16).

Representing the A&M women at nationals are seniors Cammile Adams, Erica Dittmer, Breeja Larson, Melanie McClure, Caroline McElhany and Paige Miller; juniors Kelli Benjamin, Sammie Bosma, Sarah Henry and Liliana Ibáñez; sophomores  Ashley McGregor, Meredith Oliver, Colleen Konetzke, and Claire Brandt; and freshman Sycerika McMahon and Frankie Jonker.

Four Aggie divers have qualified for the NCAA Zone Diving Meet which will be held from Mar 10-12. The divers may qualify for the NCAA Championship during that meet. Senior Jessica Macaulay will have a chance to qualify on the platform and the 1-meter springboard while freshmen Madison Hudkins, Courtney Hattie, and Zoe Alaniz will compete to qualify in both the 1-meter and 3-meter events.
