KINGSTON SPRINGS, Tenn. – The Texas A&M men's golf team wrapped up competition at the DICK'S Sporting Goods Collegiate Challenge Cup on Sunday, falling to North Carolina State 4-1 in match play at the Golf Club of Tennessee.
“It has been a pretty rough week for us,” Texas A&M head coach J.T. Higgins said. “At least today I saw a little bit more fight and heart out of the guys, but we're just not playing very well. We've got a lot to work on but we've got some time before next weekend so hopefully we can get some things straighten out and can get back to playing Aggie golf.”
Freshman Connor Black was the lone Aggie to notch a head-to-head win on the day, defeating the Wolfpack's Jacob McBride 2 & 1.
The ACC-SEC Challenge match play portion of the event resulted in an ACC victory by a score of 16.5 to 13.5.
