LIHUE, Hawai'i – For just the second time this spring, the Texas A&M men's golf team will hit the links as Wednesday morning the Aggies tee off at the John Burns Intercollegiate on Wailua Golf Course.
“We need to put together a good tournament and get back on the winning track,” head coach J.T. Higgins said. “I'm excited about the team we're putting out there at this event. Three freshmen in the lineup together for the first time. They've really done well and earned the chance to see what they can do together.”
The Aggies' five-man lineup for the event is highlighted by that trio of freshman as rookies Cameron Champ, Connor Black and Andrew Paysse join junior Adrià Arnaus and senior Greg Yates in the Maroon & White lineup.
Additionally, Texas A&M's Ben Crancer, Jake Goodman and Andrew Lister will compete as individuals.
Competition between the 17 teams in the field will take place over three days on the Wailua Golf Course, which will play at 72 par and 6,991 yards.
“It's a great golf course for us,” Higgins added. “It fits our game and is a really great opportunity for us to get our game going in the right direction.”
