NEW YORK- Former Texas A&M All-American and Connecticut Sun center/forward Kelsey Bone was named the WNBA's Most Improved Player, the league announced on Thursday. Bone was one of four Aggies who completed a successful 2015 WNBA campaign this summer.
Bone received 14 of 39 votes, outpacing Indiana's Shenise Johnson, who had nine points. Bone started 33 games for the Sun, averaging 15.4 points and 6.3 rebounds, leading the team in both categories. She ranked seventh in the WNBA in scoring and fifth in field goals made.
Bone is the first Aggie to win the WNBA's Most Improved Player Award.
Bone was also named WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week on September 15 after leading the WNBA in scoring over the week with 25.0 points.
A pair of Texas A&M teammates reunited on San Antonio this season, with Danielle Adams and Sydney Colson joining forces. Adams averaged 7.4 points and 4.3 rebounds playing in 30 games during her fifth WNBA season, while Colson averaged 3.5 points and 2.8 assists and played every game in her first WNBA action since 2011.
Sydney Carter played in 26 games, averaging 2.0 points and 1.2 assists, making seven starts for Atlanta. Carter has played in the WNBA for four seasons, and has played in an increasing amount of games every year.
All four of the Aggies in the WNBA helped Texas A&M to the 2011 NCAA Championship. Adams, Carter and Colson starred for the Aggies during the 2010-11 season, while Bone redshirted and participated in practices that season.

Bone averaged 14.3 points and 8.1 rebounds in her A&M career, and was an AP All-American in 2012-13. Carter was the Most Outstanding Player of the 2011 Dallas Regional, and averaged 10.9 points in 2011-12, earning all-conference honors. Colson was an All-American selection in 2010-11, after finishing her career with 504 career assists, which ranks fifth all-time at Texas A&M.
