Aggies Leading Art Adamson Invitational After Day Two

COLLEGE STATION, Texas—The Texas A&M men's swimming and diving team leads the pack with 584.5 total points after day two of the Art Adamson Invitational.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas—The Texas A&M men's swimming and diving team leads the pack with 584.5 total points after day two of the Art Adamson Invitational.
 
Sophomore Jonathan Tybur began the individual events for the Aggies in the 400 IM, placing seventh with a time of 4:00.84. In the consolation final, freshman Angel Martinez made an NCAA 'B' cut by swimming the event in 3:53.56.
 
Junior Turker Ayar recorded the second 'B' cut of the night for the Aggies, swimming the 100 fly in 48.22 for fifth place. Not far behind in seventh place, freshman Mateo Gonzalez swam the event in 48.70.
 
Freshman Martinez swam the 200 free in 1:39.21 for sixth place followed by senior Mateo Muzek in seventh (1:39.21). In the bonus final, senior Antoine Marc recorded an NCAA 'B' cut, swimming the event in 1:37.61.
 
Sophomore Mauro Castillo recorded the fourth and final 'B' cut of the night for the Aggies in the 100 breast, placing second in the event with a time of 53.76. Tybur placed sixth after swimming the event in 55.63.
 
Senior Alexandros Theocharidis swam the 100 back in 48.82 for fifth place.
 
Freshman Sam Thornton recorded the Aggies' first dive over 400 points, a 406.55 for second place. Sophomore Tyler Henschel finished in third with a 386.00 while junior Zachary Stockton placed sixth with a 309.45.
 
The 200 medley relay team of Castillo, senior Jacob Wallace, freshman Mateo Gonzalez, and junior Jacob Gonzales finished in fifth place with a time of 1:28.80. In the 800 free relay, the team consisting of Marc, Muzek, Martinez, and freshman Connor Long placed fifth in 6:36.85.
 
The Aggies will begin the third and final day of the Art Adamson Invitational tomorrow Nov. 20 with preliminaries at 9:30 a.m. followed by finals at 6:00 p.m.
