Aggie Hoops & adidas Partner to Celebrate Black History
Feb 17, 2015 | Men's Basketball
COLLEGE STATION – For the second consecutive game, the Texas A&M men's basketball team will wear special sneakers that celebrate Black History month when the Aggies hit the court for tonight's tilt against LSU inside Reed Arena.
Adidas, working with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, unveiled the exclusive collection for games on Martin Luther King Jr. Day and athletes will continue to wear them in select games throughout February to celebrate Black History Month and honor African-American role models like Kareem.
The Aggies, who are wearing the J Wall 1 design from the collection, made their first appearance in the sneakers during Saturday's 63-62 victory over Florida at Reed Arena.
The J Wall 1 shoe features the words "Rules are What Make the Game Challenging" to represent Kareem's career at UCLA, during which the college game banned dunking because of his dominance.
