
Womens's Golf T-4th After Two Rounds At NCAA San Antonio Regional

SAN ANTONIO- The No. 11 Texas A&M women's golf team is in fifth place after shooting a 5-under 283 in the second round of the NCAA San Antonio Regional at Briggs Ranch Golf Club. The top six teams in the event advance to the NCAA Championships in Bradenton, Fla. from May 22-27.
"Today was a good round of team golf," said Texas A&M head coach Trelle McCombs. "I am especially proud of the way Thanya Pattamakijsakul played a complete 18 holes today to shoot 68. With a good round tomorrow, we have a chance to climb up the leaderboard."
The Aggies have posted a 564 (-12) total after two rounds. The Aggies lead seventh-placed Texas Tech (-1/575) by 11 strokes. Tennessee leads the regional at 557 (-19).
Texas A&M has shot -5 or better in each of their last four rounds, dating back to the SEC Championship second round.
All five Aggies sit at even par or better for the tournament, led by Thanya Pattamakijsakul at 141 (-3), who shot a career-best 4-under on the par 72 / 6350-yard course Friday. Pattamakijsakul is tied for 12th in the tournament.
Maddie Szeryk shot a 3-under 69 on Friday, bringing her back to even par for the tournament despite a 5-over start to the competition. Szeryk, who carded four birdies on Friday, is tied for 29th in the tournament.
Marijosse Navarro finished with a 1-under 71, entering the final round in 15th place at 142 (-2) for the tournament.
Bianca Fabrizio and Andrea Jonama both sit at even par for the tournament (144) after two rounds. Fabrizio shot a 75 (+3) on Friday, while Jonama shot a 76 (+4). Both are tied for 29th in the tournament.
Play was delayed for two hours and 41 minutes due to lightning in the area. At the time of the delay, Navarro and Fabrizio were on the 18th hole, and Jonama was on the 17th tee.
The Aggies return to action with the final of three rounds at the NCAA San Antonio Regional with tee times starting at 8:24 on Saturday. A&M is looking for their sixth NCAA Championship finals appearance in the last eight years.
Next season, Texas A&M and Traditions Club will host one of the four NCAA Women's Golf Regionals.
