Pattamakijsakul Posts Career-Best Finish At Augusta

AUGUSTA, Ga.- Thanya Pattamakijsakul posted her career-best finish, finishing in a tie for second place at the 3M Augusta Invitational with a 4-under 212. The Aggies finished in seventh with an 896 (+32).
Pattamakijsakul had a final round 4-under 68, and shot a 1-over 73 in Saturday's first round at the Forest Hills Golf Club. Pattamakijsakul finished one stroke behind East Carolina's Frida Gustafsson Spang, who won medalist honors. Pattamakijsakul's previous best finish was a T-6th at the Schooner Fall Classic earlier this season. She has seven par-or-better rounds this season, which ranks second on the squad.
"I am so proud of how Thanya played this weekend," said Texas A&M head coach Trelle McCombs. "She was so steady and poised, and you can really see her hard work pay off."
The Aggies shot 301 (+13) in the second round and 294 (+6) in the final round on the par 72 / 6,246 yard course to finish at +32. Hosts Augusta won the 16-team event with an 8-under 861.
Maddie Szeryk finished in a tie for 29th after shooting a 72-76-76=224 (+8). Szeryk had six birdies in the two rounds Saturday, and found herself in the tournament's lead briefly during the second round. Callie Scheffler finished T-56th with a 232 (+16) after shooting 75-74 on Saturday.
Andrea Jonama shot 238 (+22) to tie for 77th and Emily Campbell shot 239 (+23) to finish T-79th.
The Aggies return to action at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational at Kane'ohe, Hawai'i from March 22-23.
