
Aggie Golfers Set for OFCC/Fighting Illini Invite

OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. – Following a Thursday practice round, the Texas A&M men's golf team will tee off competition at the OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational at Olympia Fields Country Club on Friday morning.
Joining the Aggies at the event will be some of the nation's top teams, including Alabama, Arizona State, Army, Baylor, Florida State, Illinois, Indiana, UNLV, North Carolina, Northwestern, Oklahoma State, Purdue, USC and Texas.
Olympia Fields Country Club's North Course will play at par 70 and 7,205 yards for the event which will feature 54 holes of competition and conclude with a final round on Sunday. The club has been home to several premier events including the 2015 U.S. Amateur. Olympia Fields has hosted two U.S. Opens, three PGA Championships, five Western Opens and a U.S. Senior Open among other high-level tournaments.
Representing Texas A&M at the event will be Cameron Champ, Chandler Phillips, Kavan Eubank, Viraj Madappa and Max Miller. The Aggies are slated to tee off at 8:45 a.m. Friday morning and will be paired alongside golfers from Alabama and Arizona State.
Texas A&M christened its 2016-17 season earlier this month with a second-place showing at the Turning Stone – Tiger Intercollegiate in Verona, N.Y. Eubank, who was making his Aggie debut following his transfer from California Baptist, captured headlines by earning individual medalist honors with a three-round total of eight-under par.
