INDIANAPOLIS --- Texas A&M senior-to-be Bethany Galat took third in the 100-meter breaststroke to highlight the Aggie women's day 4 action at the Phillips 66 National Championships on Friday at the IU Natatorium.
Galat, from Mishawaka, Ind., missed qualifying for the FINA World Championships in a second race after touching third in the 100 breast in a time of 1:06.72. Taking the top two spots were Lilly King in 1:04.95 and Katie Meili in 1:05.51. Galat qualified for Worlds with a runner-up finish in the 200 breast on Wednesday.
Former Texas A&M standout Breeja Larson was fifth in the 100 breast in 1:07.61 and Aggie senior-to-be Jorie Caneta placed 11th overall in 1:08.27.
In the 400-meter freestyle, 2017 senior Sarah Gibson placed 15th in 4:13.93 and incoming freshman Joy Field was 21st in 4:14.94.
Also earning an evening swim was senior-to-be Lisa Bratton, who placed second in the 100 backstroke "B" final (10th overall) in 1:00.53.
