The Aggies are looking to end a two-game losing skid before embarking on the road for their final two games (Ole Miss, Nov. 18 and LSU, Nov. 25).
New Mexico (3-6) needs to win in order to have a chance to go to a bowl with three games to play. The Lobos will close the year at home next Friday vs UNLV and on the road on the day after Thanksgiving at San Diego State. UNM has lost four in a row (Fresno State, Colorado State, Wyoming, Utah State) by a combined score of 131-37.
In the most recent meeting (2009), quarterback Jerrod Johnson went 31-of-41 for 349 yards and two touchdowns, while also running for a score. A&M piled up 606 yards whole holding the Lobos to just 21 on the ground.
Von Miller registered 3 sacks on the night.
Kevin Sumlin (on challenge of New Mexico): "Offensively, they're really multiple in an option-type setting. There is a lot of motion…we've got to get guys (out there) who have good eye discipline. They want to run it. They're creative in how they run it. If you watch what they do on defense, they're extremely aggressive—with loading the box and bringing people from all different places."
New Mexico RB Richard McQuarley. He ranks second on a rush-heavy team with 474 yards (5.3 per carry) and a team-best 6 touchdowns. Five of those came in a 179-yard effort against Air Force (Sept. 30).

New Mexico DB Jake Rothschiller. The former walk-on leads the Lobos in tackles, sacks, tackles for loss, forced fumbles and fumbles recovered. He's also got a 91-yard interception return for a touchdown on the year.
New Mexico ranks second from the bottom in the country (127 of 129) with a -14 turnover margin. The Lobos have 25 turnovers this season (15 fumbles, 10 interceptions), and a whopping 11 have come in the last two games (7 vs Wyoming, 4 vs Utah State)—resulting in 49 points for the opponents.
The Aggies (+5) are 27th in the country with 11 giveaways—three of those came in the loss to Mississippi State which began the two-game skid.
Kids' Yell Practice will start at 3:30 p.m. in front of the War Hymn statue on the east side of the stadium. The Aggies will arrive at 3:50 p.m. and Spirit Walk will begin near the Koldus Garage, also on the east side of the stadium.

SERIES
The teams will be meeting for the fourth time in school history and third time in the last 10 years. The first matchup came in 1926 on the site of the future Kyle Field, a 63-0 Aggie win. A&M also swept a home-and-home series about a decade ago, 28-22 in Albuquerque in 2008 and 41-6 at Kyle in 2009.In the most recent meeting (2009), quarterback Jerrod Johnson went 31-of-41 for 349 yards and two touchdowns, while also running for a score. THEY SAID IT
UNM Coach Bob Davie (A&M assistant for nine seasons): "There were times I remember … when I was there, the other team had no chance. Literally. They couldn't check at the line of scrimmage, they couldn't go on a snap count at the line of scrimmage, and the crowd absolutely took the game over. It's one of my fondest memories ever in coaching, just that feeling of electricity in that stadium."Kevin Sumlin (on challenge of New Mexico): "Offensively, they're really multiple in an option-type setting.
