Nov 10, 2017 | Softball
COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M softball added to its stellar 2018 signing class with the addition of catcher Haley Lee, head coach Jo Evans announced Friday.
"Haley is a very talented athlete," Evans said. "She does a great job behind the plate and has a strong, accurate arm. She is a power hitter and a home run threat. Haley has the ability to be a difference maker."
A three-time letterwinner and two-time team captain at Lutheran South Academy, Lee helped lead her team to their first TAPPS District Championship and State Championship as a freshman, earning first-team all-district, first-team all-state and all-tournament honors. As a sophomore, Lee led LSA to a TAPPS 4A District runner-up finish and earned first-team all-district and first-team all-state. Lee, who transferred to Kingwood High School in the middle of her junior season, holds a .563 career average with 27 home runs and a .750 on-base percentage.
The USSSA First Team All-American Select 30 honoree plays club ball for Impact Gold under head coach KC Jackson. With Impact Gold, Lee is batting .497 with a .617 on-base percentage and 54 home runs. The daughter of Nichole and Steven Lee has two sisters, Cassidy and Kiley, and plans on majoring in Sports Management.
Lee joins IF Kayla Garcia (Katy, Texas), 2B/OF Madi Jatzlau (Giddings, Texas), IF/C Baylee Klingler (Dickinson, Texas), OF Taudrea Sinnie (Nevada, Texas), IF Meagan Smith (Lake Jackson, Texas) and UTIL Morgan Smith (Lake Jackson, Texas), who signed their National Letters of Intent Wednesday.
