Post Match Quotes
Steve Denton, Texas A&M Head Coach
On getting back into win column…
"I thought it was crucial for us today to get off to a good start in the doubles. Our guys did a good job there fighting, we were down a break after one point each for two of our doubles teams. Max and Jordi really came up big to win the set and clinch the doubles point against Texas Tech. That really propelled us for the rest of the day. Our guys really fed off that, we have been working hard in practice and our guys really came through there. That led us into the singles and we were pretty dominant against a good Tech team."
On winning the first set in 11 of 12 singles matches today…
"It has been a point for us in practice to try to get off to a fast start in those singles matches. Competing early in sets and getting ahead was big for us. With that momentum, it carried on and our guys played really well."
On the Aggies depth…
"We have depth, we are good from top to bottom. I was very pleased with the way our guys have played this season, even in a couple matches that we have lost this spring. We have done a good job of winning two out of three from the bottom three courts so far this season and that continued today. We are pretty deep and with Hady [Habib] coming back into the lineup, we will be even deeper and stronger for the rest of the season. That is probably one of the strengths of this team."
