Aggie Golfers Set to Tee Off in Hawai’i

LIHUE, Hawai'i – Returning to competition for their second event of spring semester, the Texas A&M men's golf team tees off at the 41st annual John A. Burns Intercollegiate on Wednesday from Wailua Golf Course.
Chandler Phillips is the lone returner in A&M's five-man lineup from last year's event that saw the Aggies finish in third. Juniors Andrew Paysse and Kavan Eubank join Phillips along with sophomore Brandon Smith. Rounding out the A&M lineup is freshman Dan Erickson who makes his second collegiate appearance since joining the team over the winter break.
Additionally, competing as individuals, Texas A&M's sends Max Miller, Josh Gliege and senior Jake Goodman, who will make his third appearance at the Invitational.
Joining the Aggies in the 18-team field is host Hawai'i, along with Arizona, BYU, California, Grand Canyon, Hawai'i-Hilo, Kennesaw State, New Mexico, North Dakota State, Northern Colorado, Santa Clara, UNLV, Utah ,UTEP, Virginia, Washington and Washington State. Competition takes place over three days on the Wailua Golf Course, which will play at 72 par and 6,991 yards.
This is Texas A&M's 14th consecutive appearance at the Burns Invitational, where the Aggies captured the event's title in 2009 on the road to the National Championship.
The Aggie contingency will paired alongside golfers from Hawai'i-Hilo and BYU for play on Wednesday. The first round begins with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. (CT). Live scoring and results can be found on GolfStat.com as well as live updates via twitter at @AggieMensGolf.
