Kellen Mond Earns Multiple Weekly Honors

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M freshman quarterback Kellen Mond was named a Star of the Week by the Manning Award sponsored by the Allstate Sugar Bowl and to the Davey O'Brien Award "Great 8" list, it was announced Monday.
Mond led the Aggies to a thrilling 50-43 overtime victory against Arkansas in Arlington, Texas. The San Antonio native threw for 216 yards and two touchdowns and added a team-high 109 yards on the ground. Mond connected with Christian Kirk on a 10-yard pass for the game-winning touchdown in overtime.
College football fans can now go to the Allstate Sugar Bowl Facebook page to vote for what they think was the best performance from this past weekend. When voting closes on Thursday at 11 a.m., the top vote-getter will be announced as the Manning Award Quarterback of the Week.
The Manning Award was created by the Allstate Sugar Bowl in 2004 to honor the college football accomplishments of Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning. It is the only quarterback award that includes the candidates' bowl performances in its balloting.
