
No. 6 Texas A&M Faces Off Against No. 1 Texas

AUSTIN, Texas—The No. 6 Texas A&M women's swimming and diving team travels to Austin to battle with No. 1 Texas Friday evening at 6 p.m. at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center.
The Aggies are coming off an SEC opening win 178-117 at Alabama two weeks ago. Team captain Sydney Pickrem, Anna Belousova and Taylor Pike each won multiple races individually.
Pickrem placed first in the 100-yard (54.57) and 200-yard backstroke (1:57.78), in addition to touching the wall first in the 400-yard IM (4:12.77).
Belousova came away with victories in the 100-yard (1:01.28) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:13.96), and Pike led the way in the 100-yard (54.54) and 200-yard butterfly (1:59.13).
The Aggie divers swept the one-meter and three-meter competitions. Haley Allen took first in the one-meter dive (317.70) and second in the three-meter dive (322.13). Charlye Campbell had the high score in the three-meter dive (333.23), and finished second in the one-meter (287.25). Kaley Batten placed third in both events, with all three posting NCAA-qualifying scores.
Texas (2-0) is ranked No. 1 in the country coming off wins in a dual-meet against No. 19 Florida 222-126 and No. 6 Indiana 201-147.
Last year, in College Station the Longhorns squeezed out a win against the Aggies 151.5-148.5, coming down to the wire.
