No. 14 Texas A&M Falls to No. 25 Mississippi State, 2-0, at SEC Tournament

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Trinity Harrington threw a complete game three-hitter as the Texas A&M softball team fell to the No. 25 Mississippi State Bulldogs, 2-0, in the first round of the SEC Tournament at Mizzou Softball Stadium Wednesday.
Harrington took a no-hitter into the sixth before the Bulldogs were able to work a few runs across, highlighted by a go-ahead double off the bat of Morgan Bell. Harrington finished the game fanning four and allowing just one walk across 7.0 innings.
The Texas A&M (40-16) bats were unable to muster anything off Mississippi State (36-20) starter Holly Ward (15-7), who pitched the entire game holding Texas A&M to three hits and four walks. All-SEC senior, Tori Vidales highlighted the Aggie offensive effort working three walks in three times at the plate, the most by an Aggie at the SEC Tournament. Ward fanned four Aggies in route to her team leading 15th win.

T6 | Mississippi State started the scoring in the sixth, which began with a leadoff single from Emily Heimberger. After a big strikeout of the SEC home run leader and SEC Freshman of the Year, Mia Davidson, Bell sent a double to the left-field gap that scored Heimberger from first. With two down and a pinch runner on third, the Bulldogs were able to plate the second run with an infield nubber off the glove of Harrington. MSU 2, A&M 0
