Oct 30, 2019 | Soccer
COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M's Olivia Ausmus was named to the SEC Soccer Community Service Team, the league announced Tuesday.
Ausmus spearheaded of the Aggies' Turn It Gold campaign in 2019, raising over $10,000 towards the battle against pediatric cancer and $50,000 in the last three years. She attended the "Aggies for Haiti" mission trip during the summer of 2017. Ausmus participated in The Big Event, the largest one-day, student-run service project in the nation, all three years of her college career – 2017-19.
The Klein, Texas, native has also been an active volunteer in Erin's Dream Race, a 5-K run honoring a local girl that passed away due to neuroblastoma and raises money for Coalition Against Childhood Cancer and Be The Match. She spent three years as a volunteer for Aggie Soccer Youth Camps.
The SEC sponsors Community Service Teams for all 21 league sponsored sports. The Community Service Team looks to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to their community in superior service efforts.
