Texas A&M Concludes Season at NCEA Championships

WACO, Texas – Texas A&M Equestrian's season came to an end Friday as the Aggies were eliminated in the event championships at the National Collegiate Equestrian Association Championships at the Extraco Events Center.
In Equitation over Fences, the Aggies opened with a 3-0 sweep over South Carolina in the quarterfinals. Grace Boston and Madison Sellman tied at 221 to begin the meet as Rebekah Chenelle defeated Louisa Brackett, 247-216. Haley Redifer topped Madison Brayman, 257-120, prior to Caroline Dance's 248-235 victory over Grady Lyman. Texas A&M was defeated by Auburn, 4-0, in the semis.
The Maroon and White advanced to the semifinals in Equitation on the Flat with a 3-1 victory over Oklahoma State. Brianna Peddicord secured the first point, defeating Katie Schell, 229-224. Chenelle knocked off Hannah Janson, 246-233, before Adel McKenna closed out the meet with a 242-222 win against Katie Pelzel. In the semifinals, the Aggies fell to South Carolina, 3-1, as Peddicord recorded the lone point by toppling Sellman, 229-221.
In Horsemanship, Texas A&M was narrowly defeated in raw score, 2-2 (864.5-860.5) by TCU. Sarah Orsak defeated Josie Mootz, 217-212.5, and Ashley Davidson edged out Natalia DeVecenty, 226-224.
The Aggies were knocked out of the Reining championship via the raw score against SMU, 2-2 (793-610). Courtney Yohey topped Aubrey Alderman, 210-188.5, as Darby Gardner scored a 204, bettering Madison Steed's 201.
