AZUSA, California – Three career best times were produced by A&M distance runners on Thursday evening as they competed in the Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific University.
In pursuit of the school record in the 3,000m steeplechase, Ashton Hutcherson came within half a second of the 12-year-old Aggie standard as she placed third in a career best of 10:29.91. Hutcherson's time is the No. 2 performer and No. 2 performance on the Aggie all-time list, just trailing the school record of 10:29.53 set by Sarah Ravenelle in 2007.
Hutchinson, who had a previous best of 10:31.78 from the 2017 SEC Championships, now has a collection of seven of the top 10 performances on the A&M all-time list. Teammate Rachel Bernardo placed 11th in the race with Hutcherson posting a time of 10:50.75.
Ashley Driscoll finished 18th in her heat of the women's 5,000m with a career best time of 16:43.34, which moves her to No. 10 on the Aggie all-time list.
