BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The No. 21 Texas A&M women's swimming & diving team swept TCU, 181-108, in a dual meet at the Rec Center Natatorium Friday night.
The Maroon & White posted the fastest time in all 16 events, starting off the meet with the 200 medley relay of freshman Kaitlyn Owens, junior Andrea Perttula, sophomore Olivia Theall and sophomore Chloe Stepanek finishing with a time of 1:40.98.
Sophomore Abby Grottle and senior Mollie Wright were a one-two punch in the first distance event of the night, clocking in at 10:02.58 and 10:16.44, respectively. Grottle was back in the pool for the following event, swimming a season-best time in the 200 free at 1:50.46, good for another first-place finish.
Despite not competing in her usual events, Stepanek still dominated, clocking the fastest time in the 100 back (55.49) and going the distance for the top finish in the 500 free (4:54.92). In the 100 breast, Perttula lowered her personal best with a time of 1:02.59.
Senior Aimee Wilson set the standard on the springboards, scoring 363.08 on the 3-meter and 328.28 on the 1-meter to top off the night with a win. Wilson, along with senior Chloe Ceyanes and junior Alyssa Clairmont posted the top three scores on the board.
The Aggies return to action when they host the Art Adamson Invitational at the Rec Center Natatorium from Nov. 17-19.
