Coach Guerrieri Weekly Press Conference

G Guerrieri spoke to the press inside the Kyle Field Media Center Monday before embarking on preparations for the home stretch of the 2022 regular season.
Last week, Aggie soccer extended their October unbeaten streak by picking up wins over Auburn and on the road against No. 20 Ole Miss.

Coach opened with a brief update on the team's recent successes and went on to describe what last weekend's former player reunion means to the program.
“…super night as far as crowd, another another full house. We had about 200-some-odd former players and their families that were back for our reunion weekend…So, personally, really gratifying to see that many women taking such pride in what the program is about. Bringing their kids back is is always really special for myself and for for Phil and for Curt and the rest of the people who have been with us for so long."
When asked what is helping his team find their momentum, G praised the maturity of the young group in dealing with the adversity of competition.
“…our young team is growing up and we are the youngest team by far the youngest team in the SEC. We're starting eight underclassmen in our starting eleven and you can see the maturation of them, the development of them…”

Guerrieri described the sense of urgency his club must have as they approach the end-of-the-year stretch.
“At the moment we're tied with Auburn and with Missouri at seven points. Typically it's going to take 10 to 11 points to get into the SEC tournament. So, with three games left, three points for a win, one point for a tie, you know, we need to get results in these three games…"

Upcoming Matches
Ahead of next Sunday's Senior Day match against Missouri, G went into detail about the contributions from the Aggie soccer senior class.
“…really, it's a super group, and you know, it's college sports so you're going to graduate these kids. The cool thing is these guys are graduating...they're great on the field, they're great off the field. I can't say enough great things about these guys…"
