Texas A&M Quotes
Head Coach Pat Henry
on Zach Davis winning the pole vault…
"It was a great win for him. He's just one of those guys who can get it done when it counts and that's what we need. We need guys like that who can rise to the occasion and that's what he does and he did a good job of stepping up today."
on the overall day and athletes advancing to Saturday's finals…
"Overall, it wasn't a great day, but it was a pretty good day. We competed hard. If you look at us across the board, we had athletes advance in a lot of areas. Achane advanced in the 60m and 200m, and so did [Emmanuel] Yeboah in the 60m. In the 400m, you got [Emmanuel] Bamidele and [Chevannie] Hanson on the men's side. Brandon [Miller] looked really good in the 800m and advanced. On the women's side, Cherokee looked good in 400m advancing. We also advanced in the 60m with Zhane [Smith] as well as Kaylah Robinson in the hurdles. Laila [Owens] moved on in the 200m and [Bailey] Goggans, a freshman, did really well to make the 800m finals."
SEC Pole Vault Champion Zach Davis
on winning the title, competing with his teammates…
"It was my first win inside Gilliam, and to do it in the last meet I'll ever have in this building was really special. It was great to have my teammates competing alongside me. During the regular season we didn't always get the opportunity to compete together, so for us all to do that today really added to the experience."
