On the impact of the freshmen class…
"Our freshmen have grown so much. Sometimes they will find themselves taking a step back, but then they get themselves back together. Katie [Dack] got a little flustered at the plate with her strikeouts, but she was able to learn what pitches to look for and bounced back. Koko [Wooley] made some really great plays after making an error and I'm really proud of her. Emiley [Kennedy] went out there and pitched a few good innings. Cayden [Baker] was terrific tonight – she went out there and got one to bounce her way. I saw some really good improvement tonight."
On an emotional nine-inning game…
"It's definitely a mental battle, but I think it's exhausting because of all the pitchers that were thrown. The game was three hours and eight minutes – these kinds of games can be really taxing and take your concentration away, but I was really pleased to see how our kids stayed really focused and figured it out. To be able to end the game like they did at our home field with a crowd like that, I'm really proud of our kids. There's nothing better than a walk-off win."

On the team's energy tonight…
"We struggled this week against Houston, and it took a lot for us to find our energy. We were able to overcome everything that's happened recently, and we came together and took this big win."
