LOS ANGELES – The No. 19 Texas A&M men's tennis team stays in the Golden State to face UCLA on Wednesday, Jan. 17 with first serve set for 3 p.m. at the Los Angeles Tennis Center
The Aggies are coming off the Sherwood Intercollegiate, where they went a 5-3 versus the Bruins and 2-2 in doubles play. ITA ranked singles player, No. 109 JC Roddick, went 2-0 overall in singles play over the weekend, while freshmen Brayden Michna and Tiago Pires earned impressive victories against Samuel Rubell and Volodymyr Iakubenko of No. 7 USC.
"UCLA is one of the most storied programs in college tennis history," head coach Steve Denton said. "And Billy Martin is one of the winningest coaches in college tennis. They will be ready to play us at home. Having said that, I really like this team and we will be excited to play hard tomorrow afternoon. It is an exciting time and place to get the season started."
The Aggies look to secure their first dual match win for the season and will be led by Denton for the 18th season. The longtime A&M head coach is just three wins away from 350 victories leading the Maroon & White.
