KNOXVILLE – The Texas A&M volleyball team continues its road stint in Tennessee as it takes on the Lady Vols on ESPN Sunday afternoon at Thompson-Boling Arena with first serve set for 12 p.m.
Gearing up to play their second match of a three-game road trip, the Aggies head to Tennessee for a midday contest with the Lady Vols. The programs are within one match in league play, as A&M sits tied for fifth in the SEC with a 6-5 record, while Tennessee is right behind at 5-6.
Sunday's matchup will see the conference's most efficient offense in the Lady Vols come up against the third ranked Maroon & White hitting defense, as Tennessee is hitting at .282 percent in league play, while A&M is holding opponents to .194 percent.
The Aggies and Lady Vols have met 25 times in their history, with Tennessee holding a one-match lead in the all-time series. Last season the Lady Vols claimed a pair of sweeps to take the advantage in the matchup. When playing in Knoxville, the hosts hold a 7-6 record with A&M's last victory coming in 2021.
A&M dropped only its second road conference match of the season to No. 13 Kentucky last time out. The Maroon & White battled late into the opening two frames before the hosts took control of the fixture in the third. Logan Lednicky logged her fourth double-double on the year versus the Wildcats with 10 kills and 12 digs, the 10 kills also marked her 20th match this season reaching double digits.
