Beard Named to 2024 SEC Women’s Legends Class

BIRMINGHAM – Texas A&M Athletics Hall of Fame track & field star Jessica Beard was named to the 2024 SEC Women's Legends Class presented by T-Mobile, the league announced Tuesday.
The class will be recognized separately during halftime of their teams' first game at the SEC Women's Basketball Tournament (March 6-10) in Greenville, South Carolina, as well as a group introduction at halftime of the second semifinal game.
Beard was a four-year letterwinner for the Aggies (2008-11) and spearheaded the program to three straight NCAA Outdoor national titles (2009-11). She was a 16-time All-American and swept the 2011 400m indoor and outdoor national titles, along with another four title winning relay squads. Beard was also named Big 12 Athlete of the Year in 2011 and helped lead the Maroon & White to four straight conference indoor titles and three consecutive outdoor titles.
Her legendary career in Aggieland was capped off by being named the Bowerman Award winner in 2011, the highest honor in collegiate track & field. She was presented with Texas A&M's Distinguished Letterman Award and was later inducted into the Texas A&M Athletics Hall of Fame in 2017.
