
No. 4 Aggies Face Lamar in Midweek Action

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The No. 4 Texas A&M baseball team concludes its eight-game homestand with a midweek matchup against Lamar Tuesday night at 6 p.m. from Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park.
Following a sweep of Wagner over the weekend, the Aggies are off to a 7-0 start for the first time since 2020 and the 21st time overall. Sunday's win marked the 900th of Head Coach Jim Schlossnagle's career.
Tuesday's contest will be broadcast on SECN+ and can be heard locally on SportsRadio 1150 AM/93.7 The Zone. Fans can also follow along with the series through live stats or on X, @AggieBaseball.
The Maroon & White and the Cardinals (5-2) face off for the 45th time Tuesday night. Despite dropping last season's meeting, Texas A&M leads the all-time series 36-8. At home, the Aggies are 25-4 against Lamar.
Ol' Sarges' charges continue to be a consensus Top 10 team among the national polls, ranking as high as No. 4 in Perfect Game's Top 25. After a 4-0 week, Texas A&M moved to No. 7 in both the D1Baseball and USA Today Coaches polls.
The Aggie pitching staff continues to thrive under new pitching coach Max Weiner as the group leads the nation in ERA (0.76), strikeout-to-walk ratio (6.54) and shutouts (3). The Maroon & White also sit second in WHIP (0.81), fourth in walks allowed per nine innings (1.98), fourth in hits allowed per nine innings (5.34) and fourth in strikeouts per nine innings (13.0).
Through the first seven games, the staff has allowed eight runs, which are the fewest in program history. In 59.0 total innings, the Aggies have struck out 85 batters to only 13 walks.
On the offensive end, Texas A&M has shown its explosiveness through the first seven games, racking up 80 runs. Among the national ranks, the Maroon & White sit eighth in walks (59), ninth in batting average (.359), ninth in slugging percentage (.649), 12th in home runs per game, 13th in scoring (11.4), 14th in runs and 15th in homers (15). The Aggies 15 homers are the most in program history through the first seven games since at least 2000.
