Get to know one of the newest Aggies below.

Why did you decide to transfer to Texas A&M?
“I wanted to follow the people that made me feel like I am at home away from California, and that was returning to coach Ford, coach Harger and coach Heff. Coach E has definitely added to that. I feel that being here with them is helping me grow as a person. They've known me since I was 14 years old, so they’ve seen me grow into now a 22-year old adult.”
How has it been transferring with Jaz Hill, returning to play for Coach Ford and have you experienced anything unique or strange about Texas A&M?
“To me it’s not strange, but it is very unique. I like the small town vibe. I grew up in a small town, but I do think it is odd for Jaz at times. Country music is my thing, so I love being here. To transfer with Jaz has been a lot of fun, she has known me for 4 years from when I was a freshman and now as a senior. I have been with her my whole career, and we’ve definitely gotten closer which is a plus. I love being close with my girls. To return to play for coach Ford is very welcoming. I've always wanted to play under coach Ford. When I transfer or go to a school, I go for the coaching staff, I look for the coach who understands me as a person and as a player.”
So you're close to this staff, be honest and tell us who your favorite is?
“That’s a hard one. I have been playing for coach Ford and Harger for a while now. I do crack dad jokes with Harger and he falls for them every single time. But favorite is a strong word, so I love them all equally, they are all the same to me.”
What are some individual and team goals for this season?
“A team goal is always to win a ring, and I think that our culture so far has been moving towards that. The way we are interacting with each other and the coaching staff, we are moving towards the right step. Individually myself, since it is my last year, I am going to give it all that I’ve got. Put one foot in front of the other, through failure or success, I am always going to be there for my girls.”

How do you see yourself making the biggest impact you can on this team and are there any areas you would like to improve on?
“The biggest impact I can have on this team is to just be myself. Being a good teammate is the best that a team could have and I strive to do so. Something that I could improve on is checking in on the younger players. From seniors to all the underclassmen, just checking up on each other more. I am very open and always have an ear to listen, I feel like I could be better at that as a player in general and as a teammate.”
What has been your favorite part about Aggieland so far and is there a favorite place to eat at?
“The small town vibe. It is definitely a college town and everyone supports everyone. I think that is a great thing. Favorite place is Fuego. I go there twice a week and their queso is gas. The “El Presidente” is so good, I will eat two to three tacos. I could honestly eat there forever, as long as I can swipe my Red Card at Fuego, I will eat there.”
What's better In-N-Out or Whataburger?
“In-and-Out by far. Whataburger buns are too smashed together and at In-N-Out you can get a protein style which is wrapped in lettuce instead of a bun. Their patties are also salted. You can’t compare the two burgers, personally I think one is better than the other.”

What song stays stuck in your head 24/7, and who is your favorite artist?
“I listen to a lot of country. Whiskey Myers is a good one, “Reckoning” is probably my favorite song. I also like Wyatt Flores, Tyler Childers and other country singers along those lines.”
Outside of softball, what are some of your favorite hobbies?
“I like to hang out with my friends. I have a good number of friends aside from softball and we like to shoot pool or go to dance halls.”
What is your major and why?
“My major is Agricultural Leadership and Development, with a minor in Communication. I chose it because I want to do hair when I grow up, which I don't really need a degree, but it is the easiest to get me through school.”
What are you plans for after Texas A&M?
“Personally, I don’t know if I want to play softball after college. I like to have a lot of plans in my head and then put my mind to them. I will probably invest in real estate, rent out around here and open my own salon after I go to beauty school.”
