BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The No. 12 Texas A&M men's tennis team continues conference play against the No. 8 Tennessee Volunteers Friday, March 15, at the Mitchell Tennis Center with first serve set for 1 p.m.
"Tennessee is another very tough-minded team who is at the top of the conference," head coach Steve Denton said. "We will have to be ready for another big fight tomorrow if we want to come out on top. I know our team is excited for the opportunity."
The Maroon & White (14-4, 3-1 SEC) are coming off a split doubleheader against UTRGV and No. 1 Ohio State. The Aggies dominated the Vaqueros, 6-1, and fell to No. 1 Ohio State, 6-1.
The team is led by reigning SEC Player of the Week JC Roddick who just defeated No. 17 Cannon Kingsley of Ohio State in straight sets. The junior is 8-3 on Court 2 this season with a team-high five ranked wins.
A&M is seeking to get a win against No. 8 Tennessee (15-3, 4-0 SEC) who sits tied for first in the league standings. Tennessee claimed their last win over SEC opponent Florida.
The match was originally slated for a 6 p.m. first serve, but due to impending weather, it was moved up to 1 p.m.
