
Little Advances to Finals on Seventh Day of U.S. Olympic Team Trials

EUGENE – Texas A&M track & field all-time great Shamier Little punched her ticket to the women's 400m hurdles final on the seventh day of the U.S. Olympic Team Trials Friday at Hayward Field.
Little took the track for the semifinal round of the 400m hurdles with an aim to reach her second final of the trials. She was running out of lane seven in heat two and dominated the field, topping her section in 53.49 to advance third overall to Sunday's final with a spot on Team USA on the line.
Jamaican Trials
Charokee Young opened her trials campaign in the preliminary round of the 400m. The Aggie All-American won the second heat of the event in 51.58 to secure automatic qualification to Sunday's final.
Canadian Trials
Joshua Mather closed out the Aggie contingent at Canadian trials, as he finished sixth in the men's javelin with a toss of 66.08m/216-9.

The Aggies return to Hayward Field Sunday for the final day of trials, where Maggie Malone Hardin kicks off the action in the women's javelin final. She is followed by Brandon Miller in the 800m final, James Smith in the 400m hurdles final and Little also in the 400m hurdles final.
The Jamaican trials in Kingston will see Young back in action for the 400m final and Kimar Farquharson will in the 4x400m relay event.
