Senior Transfer Olivia "Ojo" Johnson grew up in Pearland, Texas, and joined the Aggies over the summer after spending the past 3 seasons at Washington. While with the Huskies she earned Pac-12 All-Freshman team honors, after she recorded a .300 batting average, with 27 hits and 4 home runs in 90 at-bats.

What in your opinion, makes Aggieland and Texas A&M different from other universities?
"The traditions, passion and spirit. I have never been a part of a program where our War Hymn and Yells are not just embedded into the softball program but the university itself. Even though I am only here for the year, you really need time to experience it.
What has your transition from Washington to Aggieland, been like and has Sidne Peters who also transferred from Washington helped your transition?
"Sidne Peters is one of my great friends and having her along with this transition from Washington to Aggieland has been helpful. Having her to lean on then and to work through whatever situations now has always been great. The transition from the two schools has been different, but we have a great program, mentors and staff that helps."

How was your experience for the 2024 Fall Ball season, what have you learned and improved on, going into the 2025 season?
"It's my first season with the team. I'm still trying to learn everyone and their style of play and pace, especially getting into our pitchers, since we have quite a few. Other than that, this team has been fun and in the Fall we had a great schedule. Seeing the team and their intensity is something new that I have experienced coming into a new program."
What are your individual and team goals going into this 2025 season?
"As a team, we want to go to the World Series in Oklahoma, every individual is willing to put forth their best effort to get there. Personally, unselfishly doing whatever it takes to get there. Owning whatever role I have and being my best at it, and I am sure accolades will come with that."
Which Coaching staff member has helped you the most, and what makes this group of coaches special?
"The coach that has helped me the most is Coach E. If you have ever met Coach E, you would know that he has a subtle presence. He is not really in the crowd, but he always takes the time to ask how it is going and how are classes. He has been a kind face to look at and converse with. I have been blessed to work with different coaches from different backgrounds and what is different with this group, is how long they have worked together. Going back to the Pac-12 Arizona State before Coach Ford, Harger, and Heff came over here. They are very interconnected, they know each other to the point where they can finish each other's sentences."
Where in Aggieland is your favorite place to eat?
"I am a "homebody", so my first initial thought is my apartment. I haven't really explored Aggieland as much, but I am blessed enough to where my mom makes a lot of my meals and transports them. But my comfort food is fried chicken."
What are some of your favorite things to do, when not playing softball?
"I love talking to family and friends. I am very fortunate to where I am only an hour and thirty minutes away from home, so in the fall I would go home if we did not have anything. I also like to play Mario Kart and watch TV shows, I am currently on Squid Game right now."
What is your biggest pet peeve, or hot take?
"Loud belches or burps drive me crazy. Little nuances like smacking gum, or any loud chewing noises. My hot take is that you do not need sauce on everything. For me, I am a firm believer in eating things dry, like steak for instances."
Do you have any pregame rituals or superstitions?
"Pre-game rituals I usually do a 10-minute meditation before I leave, or in the parking lot before I get to the field. My superstition would be the way I put my uniform on. I've been told it is unique. I'll start with my socks and go from there, but it is a superstition.".
Which team member, is the most outgoing?
"We are very fortunate to have a loud group. I would definitely have to say Kylei Griffin, she will say anything, and is not afraid to crack a few jokes."
