BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M men's tennis team advanced four players across singles and doubles at the ITA Texas Regional at the Mitchell Tennis Center Sunday.

The doubles tandem of junior Kholo Montsi and redshirt sophomore Ritesh Patil advanced to the quarterfinals after topping the No. 3 seeded duo of Trevor Svajda and Georgi Georgiev of SMU, 8-5.

The Aggies competed in two rounds of the main draw, with three players advancing to the quarterfinals. Sophomore Alex Frusina opened the day with a dominate win over Texas' Evan Burnett, 6-0, 6-3, and later secured his quarterfinals spot by defeating Baylor's Luc Koenig, 6-1, 6-3.

Senior Togan Tokac only dropped two games across both two rounds. He won his round of 32 match versus Maximillian Ontiveros, 6-1, 6-0 and followed up with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over UT Arlington's Yazid Lahjomri. Â

Montsi began his day with a straight-set win over Rice's Noey Do, 6-1, 6-1. In the round of 16, the junior rallied after splitting his first two sets. The third set tiebreaker was a back-and-forth tussle, with Montsi coming out on the winning end, 6-2, 4-6, 7-6(5).

Junior Lathan Skrobarcek and redshirt sophomore Ritesh Patil both picked up a singles win in the round of 32 before dropping in the round of 16.

Tomorrow's action will open with doubles at 9 a.m. Montsi and Patil will face off against Jonah Braswell and Evan Burnett of Texas. If they win, the semifinals match will take place at 2:30 later that day. Singles matches start at 10:30 a.m., with Frusina set to face Baylor's Ioan Alexandru Chirita. Tokac will face Texas' Sebastian Eriksson and Montsi will face Trevor Svajda of SMU.
