Oct 19, 2025 | Volleyball
BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The No. 10 Texas A&M volleyball team secured its third-straight sweep downing Arkansas behind logan Lednicky's career night, as she tied her own program record with 22 kills in a three-set match Sunday afternoon at Reed Arena, 3-0 (25-20, 25-20, 25-19).
Lednicky powered the Maroon & White (15-3, 7-1 SEC) past the Razorbacks (5-15, 1-8 SEC) to secure Texas A&M's best start in conference play since 2012 behind her program-record showing. The senior recorded 22 kills which tied her own best in a three-set match which was set in 2022, but she wasn't done there, as she hit .606 percent on the night which marked a career high.
The match opened with each team striking blows, as they were knotted on five occasions before the Maroon & White grabbed a three-point lead as they reached double digits (10-7). Arkansas held its ground, shrinking the gap to one as the teams huddled up at the media timeout, 15-14. The Aggies came out of the break on fire on the back of Ifenna Cos-Okpalla, as the middle recorded two blocks, one kill and paired that with a Razorback error to be up four (19-15). Texas A&M didn't let the visitors get close, taking the first frame, 25-20.
The Aggies were shot out of a cannon to start the second, ripping off a 4-0 streak to open the frame courtesy of three quick kills from Lednicky. The visitors battled back, as the programs found level at double digits (10-10). The deadlock remained until 15-15, but it was Texas A&M who pulled away scoring four-straight points forcing an Arkansas timeout, 19-15. The onslaught continued, as the Maroon & White capped off the set (25-20) and doubled their lead in the match, 2-0.
Back-and-forth volleyball opened the third frame, as the teams were tied on every point to 7-7. Needing to create some separation Lednicky answered the call, ripping off seven kills in Texas A&M's next 14 points prompting the Razorbacks to huddle up, 21-19. Nothing stopped the Aggies, as they scored four-straight to take the set (25-19) and match, 3-0.

COACH'S QUOTES
Head coach Jamie Morrison on the senior class…
"There is gratitude and a little bit of grieving. The gratitude is just that this is the group that helped build this program into what it is. They've been along the hard part of the ride, which was changing the culture and lifting it up so that the perception would be what it is today. I am eternally grateful for that. Just thinking about life without the group of humans that we have here, and the personality of this team makes me emotional. I am definitely not going to take for granted the next eight games that we this season."
PLAYER'S QUOTES
Senior setter Maddie Waak on the senior class…
"I love the energy on the court every time we get to play here. Reed in unreal so it was a great day to have senior night. Just getting the opportunity to play here is awesome. I've gotten to watch a lot of these people grow over the years, so its super awesome to be here with them."
Senior opposite hitter Logan Lednicky on her career night…
"It's not a one-man sport, it truly takes every single person to make it gel. All the credit to my teammates just to be able to allow me to do what I do, especially Maddie [Waak]."
