No. 9 Volleyball Opens Road Stint at LSU

BATON ROUGE – The No. 9 Texas A&M Volleyball team travels to LSU to open a two-match road trip Friday at the Maravich Assembly Center with first serve set for 7 p.m.
The Aggies head to Baton Rouge following a commanding sweep over Arkansas highlighted by Logan Lednicky's career night. The senior matched her own program record for kills in three-set match with 22 on the night, while also hitting at a career high .606 percent. The Sugar Land, Texas, native's performance over the week also earned her a pair of weekly conference honors, as she was named SEC Player and Offensive Player of the Week.
Texas A&M's standout setter, Maddie Waak, earned SEC recognition following her impressive week of play which like Lednicky was in full show versus the Razorbacks. She logged 36 assists in the match, while tying her season high in kills and blocks with four and three, respectively.
Efficiency was the standout measurable in the matchup versus the Razorbacks, with the Maroon & White hitting over .300 percent as a unit for the eighth time this season at .357, as Arkansas was held to .206.
The Matchups
Friday's contest marks the 54th all time meeting between the Aggies and LSU, with the Maroon & White holding a 33-20 advantage, including an 11-7 record when playing in Baton Rouge. The programs met twice last season, with each team defending home court, as LSU won 3-2 at home, while Texas A&M got its victory in four sets, 3-1.
The Aggies enter Friday's competition in rhythm after a trio of straight-set wins, standing 15-3 overall and 7-1 in SEC play, while LSU sits at 10-9 overall and 3-5 in league action. The tigers look get back to 500 at home, as they sit 3-4 playing at the Maravich Assembly Center this season.
On the stat sheet, the Maroon & White hold an advantage over the tigers in all seven traceable team categories. The Tigers rank highest this season in blocks per set as a team at 2.33, but they have to face off versus the Aggie offense which ranks No. 3 in kills per set and No. 4 in hitting percentage.

Logan Lednicky sits four kills shy of climbing to No. 8 on Texas A&M's all-time kills list, while also eyeing the No. 7 & 6 spots as she's 18 and 20 away, repetitively.
Ifenna Cos-Okpalla moved up to No. 7 in career blocks at Texas A&M after her last match, she is now six stuffs from sixth all-time.
Emily Hellmuth is 15 kills away from reaching 1,000 in her career.
