Texas A&M Slugs Past Sam Houston, 22-7, in Fall Exhibition

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M baseball team saw a spark from its newcomers and secured a dominant 22-7 victory over Sam Houston in an exhibition game Friday evening at Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park.
The Aggies used 17 position players and 11 pitchers in the 12-inning outing. Texas A&M tallied 24 hits, seven of which went for extra bases. Freshmen Nico Partida and Luke Billings highlighted the offensive attack for the Maroon & White. Each slugger blasted a home run and drove in four runs in the win. Fellow freshman Jorian Wilson recorded two base knocks and a pair of walks to go along with two RBI.
On the mound, the Aggies struck out 12 as Aiden Sims led way with four punchouts in two scoreless innings of work. Weston Moss was tabbed the starter and faced the minimum in the first inning, striking out two.
The Aggies return to action Friday, Oct. 10 as they host TCU in their final fall exhibition game of the fall. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. and admission is free.
