Men's Golf Challenges Erin Hills at the Marquette Intercollegiate
Oct 04, 2025 | Men's Golf
ERIN, Wisc. – The No. 16 Texas A&M men's golf team heads to America's Dairyland for the Marquette Intercollegiate at Erin Hills, contested from Sunday to Tuesday.

Scenic Erin Hills serves as host of the event. The links play as par 72 and 7,551 yards for the tournament.
The field is geographically diverse with the 14 teams hailing from 12 different states. Only California (San Diego State and UC Davis) and Wisconsin (Marquette and Wisconsin) are represented by multiple teams. The tournament features three teams which finished in the top 15 of last season's final Scoreboard Rankings powered by Clippd, including Florida (No. 6), Texas A&M (No. 11) and San Diego State (No. 15). Three Big 10 teams are in the field, including Minnesota, Rutgers and Wisconsin.

Three Aggies in the lineup have top 10 finishes early in the season. Aaron Pounds earned his first collegiate victory at the season-opening 2nd Swing Gopher Invitational. Shiv Pamar has two top 10s and his eighth-place showing at last week's talent-laden Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational earned SEC Freshman of the Week recognition. Wheaton Ennis, a SEC All-Freshman performer last season, posted a t-9th at the OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational.

The Aggie fivesome is rounded out by Kris Kuvaas and Alex Long with Jack Usner competing as an individual.

The Maroon & White won the Marquette Intercollegiate in two of their three previous trips – 2017 and 2021. They also played in 2023, finishing third.

Walker Lee won the individual title in 2021 with a tournament record 14-under 202 (66-67-69). Michael Heidelbaugh owns the tournament low round with a record 8-under 64 carded in the second round in 2021. He closed out the round with a 6-under 30 on the back nine.

The tournament features 9 a.m. tee times from Nos. 1 and 10 each day. Sunday, the Aggies are paired with Minnesota and UC Davis for a 9:50 a.m. start from No. 1. Live stats are available at Clippd.

COURSE
Erin Hills is a course like none other. The track is routed over the kettle moraine terrain left by glaciers and surrounded by wetlands and a river. In an unconventional decision for a course in Wisconsin, the architects steered the fairways around the contours of the property, providing a firm surface that plays shorter than its length on the scorecard.

The course was designed to accommodate the 2017 U.S. Open – in terms of both the challenge to the players and the logistics of the spectators. The mix of traditional and modern elements as well as a championship test leave many golfers feeling they have never played anywhere like Erin Hills.
