TEXAS A&M QUOTES
On the tough conditions Sunday at Erin Hills...
"The course played awesome today. It was an incredible test. The wind blew hard from No. 1 to No. 18. The whole golf course is a crosswind. It was a challenge every step of the way. But we hung in there and finished well on the back nine so we're pretty happy with where we sit after kind of a rough stretch early in the day."
On Wheaton Ennis' round...
"Wheaton was really steady all day. He got out of position a little bit early when we were kind of off to that rough start. But he had a really clean back nine. Going 1-under on the backside today was great."
On Sunday's other contributors...
"Aaron (Pounds) hung in there and posted a good score after a rough start and he's in the top 10 and Alex (Long) was playing in our lineup for the first time and he was solid. It was unfortunate for him that he lost a ball at 14 kind of in a place where you really couldn't lose one, but other than that he had a really nice round. So I'm happy the guys hung in there and there's a lot more golf. There are 36 more holes with different weather the next two days."
