LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Texas A&M's KC Concepcion was named to the Paul Hornung Award Weekly Honor Roll on Tuesday for his all-purpose performance in the No. 5 Aggies' 31-9 win over SEC opponent Mississippi State last week, the Louisville Sports Commission announced. The Hornung Award is presented annually to the "most versatile player in major college football."
Concepcion, a junior from Charlotte, North Carolina, totaled 118 all-purpose yards against the Bulldogs with 61 receiving yards, 35 yards via punt returns and 22 on a pair of rushes. He reeled in a pair of touchdown catches, including a 34-yarder late in the first half that gave the Aggies a lead they would not relinquish.
For the season, the 5-11, 190-pound Concepcion ranks No. 2 in the SEC and No. 20 nationally in all-purpose yards with 120.0 per game. His 17.7 punt return average stands second in the league and No. 8 nationally. His 80-yard punt return touchdown against UTSA in the season opener has Concepcion tied for No. 3 nationally in season punt return scores. As a receiver, Concepcion has 24 catches for 401 yards (16.7 per catch) with a team-high five touchdowns.

The Louisville Sports Commission successfully launched the Paul Hornung Award in 2010 to honor its namesake and native son, and to promote outstanding performances by versatile college football players who often go unnoticed. Each week during the regular season, a panel of college football experts selects players for the Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll based on performance. A national selection committee comprised of 18 sports journalists and former NFL stars votes for the Hornung Award finalists and the winner, with fan voting powered by Texas Roadhouse comprising the 19th vote.
The 5-0 Aggies return to action on Saturday with a 6 p.m. clash against the Florida Gators, who improved to 2-3 after a 29-21 victory over No. 9 Texas last week.
