
No. 9 Volleyball Hosts No. 3 Kentucky in Top 10 Matchup

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The No. 9 Texas A&M Volleyball team returns to Reed Arena to host No. 3 Kentucky in the first top 10 home matchup in program history Wednesday evening at 6 p.m.
The Maroon & White return to Aggieland following a straight-set victory over Alabama in Tuscaloosa, claiming their seventh-straight win and fourth victory in conference play. The Aggies controlled the match from start to finish, as the team efficiency differed by a staggering .307 percent with Texas A&M hitting .366 and the Crimson Tide .059.
Ifenna Cos-Okpalla continued to separate herself among the league's middle blockers, as she achieved a new career-high five aces to go with her six kills and four blocks. The senior's performance over the week ensured her back-to-back SEC Player and Defensive Player of the Week honors after tallying 14 blocks, 13 kills and seven aces versus South Carolina and Alabama.
A pair of pins stood out for the Aggies, as both Emily Hellmuth and Logan Lednicky recorded double-digit kills while both hitting at season-high efficiency. Hellmuth tallied 12 kills at .421, while Lednicky logged 11 at .429.
The Matchups
Wednesday's contest between Texas A&M and Kentucky will be the first top-10 match at Reed Arena and the 27th all-time meeting between the teams. The Wildcats hold a 16-10 advantage in the series, however the Maroon & White have fared well at home where the ledger is tied 6-6.
Kentucky has claimed the last three battles between the teams, including last year's contest in Lexington. The Aggies last defeated Kentucky in 2022, securing a sweep on their home court.
The two programs enter Friday's meeting with unblemished starts in league play, as the Aggies are tied for top of the SEC at 4-0, while the Wildcats are right behind at 3-0.
