COLUMBUS, Ga. – Texas A&M's Vanessa Borovilos and Cayetana Fernández García-Poggio were named to the ANNIKA Award Final Fall Watch List, the Haskins Foundation announced Tuesday.
The Aggie duo has led Texas A&M to the No. 5 ranking on the Scoreboard Team Rankings at the conclusion of the fall season. The Maroon & White played in four stroke play events and won all four with three different golfers leading the team in each tournament.
Fernández García-Poggio is currently ranked No. 11 on the Scoreboard Individual Rankings. The junior leads the team with a 70.4 stroke average and came in the top 12 of all stroke play events this fall, including a victory at the Carmel Cup to open the year.
Borovilos is ranked No. No. 27 and tallied a 71.4 stroke average so far this season. The Canadian posted three top 10 performances this year, highlighted by a runner-up finish at the Carmel Cup and a third-place outing at the Jim West Challenge.
The Aggies return to the course in the spring at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge in Palos Verdes Estates, California, Feb. 1-3.
