ORLANDO, Fla. – Texas A&M's Alex Frusina kicks off action at the NCAA Singles Championship on Tuesday at the USTA National Campus.

No. 34 Frusina will open the round of 64 against No. 81 Cosme Rolland De Ravel of TCU at 2:30 p.m. The sophomore punched his ticket to Orlando after defeating teammate Tiago Pires in the ITA Central Sectionals quarterfinals playoffs, 1-6, 6-3, 6-1.

The Conroe, Texas native has accumulated a 9-4 singles record this fall. In his freshman season at Auburn, he logged a 20-12 overall singles record and a 15-9 dual match record primarily at the No. 2 line. His performance that season earned him Second Team All-SEC and SEC All-Freshman Team recognitions as well as two SEC Freshman of the Weeks nods.
