Men's Basketball Set to Host Manhattan Friday Night

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M men's basketball team aims to keep rolling at home as Manhattan comes to town Friday for a 7 p.m. tip at Reed Arena.
The Maroon & White are coming off an 86-81 win over Montana Tuesday night that saw Rylan Griffen lead five Aggies in double figures with a season-best 17 points. The victory marked the fourth time this season Texas A&M has had at least five double-digit scorers in a game. Rashaun Agee added 10 points and 10 rebounds in the win to register his first double-double of the season and the 22nd of his career.
Friday marks the fourth all-time meeting between the Aggies and Jaspers, the first in College Station. Texas A&M holds a 2-1 advantage in the series, most recently securing a 74-45 victory in 2010 at the Old Spice Classic in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
The Aggies have been solid on defense so far this season. They rank second in the SEC forcing 15.6 turnovers per game while also sitting in the top-four in the league in steals (8.6/g) and turnover margin (+3.6). Texas A&M has also taken advantage of its opponents' miscues, scoring at least 19 points off turnovers in four of the team's five games.
On the offensive end, the Aggies are averaging 18.6 assists and 9.6 3-pointers per game, both ranking fifth among league teams. Rubén Dominguez leads the Aggies from the beyond the arc, shooting 39.4-percent and knocking down 13 3's on the season, both rank in the top-eight in the SEC.
The Aggies have showcased their depth, seeing a boost from the bench as they rank seventh nationally and second in the SEC with 44.4 points coming from the bench so far this year. Texas A&M has held the advantage in bench points in every game this season, contributing at least 30 points in each outing. Against Montana the Aggies saw 41 points come from non-starters.
