McMillan Adds Kansas Transfer Clemence to 2025-26 Roster
Apr 13, 2025 | Men's Basketball
BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M men's basketball coach Bucky McMillan continued to build the Aggies' 2025-26 roster with the addition of Kansas transfer forward Zach Clemence on Sunday.
The 6-foot-11 Clemence played in 52 games at the University of Kansas over the past four years with a redshirt season in 2023-24. The San Antonio native is a solid shooter and proved capable of playing several positions for the Jayhawks. His 2024-25 season was cut short by a significant groin injury that limited him to eight games, all during the Jawhawks' non-conference schedule.
Clemence saw his most extensive action in the Jayhawks' 2022 NCAA Championship season when he chipped in 2.1 points and 1.8 rebounds while seeing nearly five minutes of action in 24 games.
During his career in Lawrence, Clemence reached double figures twice with 11 points vs. Stony Brook as a freshman (11/18/2021) and 10 vs. Oklahoma as a sophomore (1/10/2023). He logged his career high of six rebounds twice vs. Stony Brook and Oklahoma State (2/14/2022). He dished out a career-high three assists vs. Texas Southern in the 2022 NCAA Tournament (3/17/2022).
A consensus national top 50 recruit out of high school, Clemence played his junior and senior seasons at Sunrise Christian Academy in Bel Aire, Kansas. Coached by Luke Barnwell, Clemence helped Sunrise to 44-7 record in his two seasons and led the Buffaloes to a runner-up finish at the 2021 GEICO High School National Championship in Florida. Clemence was ranked No. 34 by ESPN100, No. 35 by Rivals.com and No. 40 by 247Sports.com.
