BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M men's basketball coach Bucky McMillan continued to build the Aggies' 2025-26 roster as he added former Samford standout and 2025 Southern Conference Sixth Man of the Year Josh Holloway on Friday.
After playing his first two seasons under McMillan at Samford, Holloway reunites with the Aggies' first-year coach at Texas A&M. The 6-foot-2 Holloway led the SoCon in assists (2.9/G) and steals (1.6) off the bench and was recognized for his defensive prowess as a member of the SoCon's All-Defense Team.
Overall, Holloway averaged 7.4 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists as a sophomore and ranked sixth in the league in total steals with 45. The Memphis, Tenn. native turned up his offensive game later in the season, averaging 11.9 points and 2.3 assists per game after the start of February. He reached double-digit points seven times in that span, including a pair of 20-point scoring outbursts.
In two seasons and 68 games in Birmingham, Holloway posted 13 games with 10 or more points, including a career-high 23 in a road loss to UNC-Greensboro in the 2024-25 regular season finale (3/1/2025). He generated two or more steals in 21 games, including more than four in five contests.
