No. 15 Aggies SEC Tournament Run Ends in the Quarterfinals

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The No. 15 Texas A&M men's tennis team dropped in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament to the No. 14 Tennessee Volunteers, 4-2, on Friday at the Columbia Tennis Center.
Texas A&M (16-10, 9-5 SEC) opened strong against Tennessee (20-7, 9-5 SEC) after earning the doubles point. The duo of Giulio Perego and Ritesh Patil struck first defeating James Newton and Lance Nisbet, 6-2. After giving up court 2, the No. 5 duo of Togan Tokac and Theo Papamalamis secured the doubles point with a victory over the No. 11 duo of Alejandro Moreno and Alex Kotzen on court 1, 7-5, to put the Aggie in the advantage.
The Volunteers struck first in singles action, claiming court 1. Senior Alan Magadan pulled off an upset victory over No. 27 Shunsuke Mitsui on court 2, 7-6(2), 6-2. The Maroon & White could not hold off the Orange & White as they claimed three-straight courts to secure the victory.
